没有仔细看全文，但摘要中这两条似乎互相矛盾。假如他们只是顺行性遗忘，而非完全没有记忆，他们的推断仍然可以建立在以前记忆的基础上。

注重文章的标题是Episodic Memory，而并非所有记忆。找了下原文，见到如下一句。感爱好的可以读读全文，包括补充材料相关的病人的案例资料。

S1), lost their ability to consciously recollect personal happenings from their own lives (5, 6).
